Hey folks, first time poster with some questions for experienced
people about what music hardware/software I should buy.
What I'm looking for is the ability to: notate music, to use a wide,
wide, variety of samples in the playback of the piece, including some
samples of my own device, to autonotate parts I play into the PC, to
be able to enter music with a musical keyboard or PC keyboard, and to
be able to print sheet music (I'd want to use at least 24 staves).
I am in the process of buying a PC and accessories for mainly this
purpose (plus internet surfing). The possiblilties of MIDI are
somewhat foreign to me; don't assume I know what something can do.
Also, I don't know to build a sample library.
These are the things I know I want, but there may be other things I
don't know that I want, so please, tell me your preferences for one-
man-band composing. Why not just call it a studio that I'm building,
if I'm already 80% of the way there. Mics and preamps, etc. will come
later. I know there are people like me who are actually interested in
this stuff, so thanks in advance for your help.
Eric
