Last Friday I saw the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I whole heartedly suggest
that you go see them. If you're lucky you'll get Al Pitrelli's troupe. I
did.The tour will end Jan. 6/08. They started touring Nov.1 so if they've
passed your area already, keep them in mind for next year. That's all I've
been talking about for the last 3 days. I usually detest xmas music but
this
is right up my alley.
It's a mix of rock and classical music. Sort of a Christmas rock opera.
They
are amazing. Everything is top-notch: musicians, singers, pyros, lights,
lasers, clothes, sound. Rockers wearing tuxedos but not stuffy at all.
I even took out my VCR tape of Alice Cooper Trashes the World to see Al
Pitrelli in action again.
If you've seen on YouTube the video of a xmas lights show to music you've
heard one of their pieces.

Their website is full of information on the tour and the people involved.

The band was formed in 1996 by rock producer Paul O'Neill. Both Paul and
Al
were involved with Savatage. Jon Oliva of Savatage is also involved with
TSO. Another good site to find out more is www.allmusic.com and do an
Artist/Group search: Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
They even had a meet and greet after the show for anyone interested.
