Hey Joe. Man, I haven't seen any of the regulars in here in ages. I
still poke my head in once in awhile tosee if anyone ever posts
anything. I haven't seen anything from Zee, Spatula Messiah, or anyone
else, for that matter. I'm surprised, what with Jerry playing on the
new Ozzy material, Jerry playing with Damageplan on The Punisher
soundtrack, Jerry playing with the Band Of Gypsys in Seattle a few
months back, Jerry playing the Tsunami benefit with Heart, Pat Lachman
(Damageplan), along with god knows what else.
I feel bad that Jerry was dropped by Roadrunner, as he is truly one of
the most talented musicians ever to hit the big time. ****in' shame.
As far as SFD, well I don't think it ever made it past the demo stage.
Nothing ever really became of it. Why Jerry chose Mike Bordin and
Robert Trujillo instead of his old AIC mates to record D-Trip was a
****ing mystery to me. It seemed to me that Jerry turned his back on
all of them, even before Layne died. Boggy Depot was supposed to be a
AIC album, but by that time, Layne wouldn't come out of his apartment,
nor would he answer his phone. Especially after his girlfriend died. I
think Jerry, Sean and Mike knew by this time that AIC was basically
dead.
I was especially surprised that Mike Inez didn't play on the Ozzy
stuff with Jerry. After all, Mike got the gig with AIC after playing
and touring with Ozzy.
I saw Jerry play 3 times during the D-Trip tour, and during the show
at the Hammerstein Ballroom, right after Layne died, Jerry dedicated
"Down In The Hole" to "my good friend, Layne". Everyone had their
lighters lit, some people were enjoying it, some people were crying,
and some people were just numb (me). It was one of the greatest, and
yet one of the saddest nights I can ever remember.
AIC FOREVER!!!!
