I saw Farmers Manual live at the end of one night of a Musique Concrete
festival at the ICA in London. While the sounds they were making were
very good, and the methods they were using were fascinating to some
extent, they went on and on and on and eventually they cleared the
place. A pity, really, as it could have been awesome.
Personally I find the kind of repetition present in h3o and others such
as William Basinski and maybe Andrew Chalk, even Nurse With Wound (Salt
marie Celeste is incredible) to be far more engaging. The slow changes
get me every time, even though the necessary close listening is a bit
tiring.
Thes.
