My name is W. Ron Cowart, and for over 30 years I have had the
op****tunity to work with some of the finest High School Marching Bands
and Winter Guards in the Delaware and Lehigh Valley. Please accept
this letter of introduction and application for he position of the
Color Guard Caption Head and/or Visual Caption Head for the 2008
Marching Band Season, for schools in Eastern Pennsylvania.
Through the years I have worked in different capacities with many HS
marching bands, from Drum Instructor and Honor Guard instructor in my
early years of instructing to Drill Designer and Color Guard Director
of many groups. I have worked with some 50 performing groups that
include Marching Bands, Drum & Bugle Corps Winter Guards and have
created added value to the students=92 educational and performing
experience. And in 2007 I was the visual caption head and color guard
caption head for Crestwood HS of Mountain Top PA. I also have been
the Assistant and Executive Director of the Northwind Indoor Color
Guard since its inception in 2000 as we have been competing in the
Tournament Indoor Association and Cavalcade Indoor Association.
I am also a Field Visual and Auxiliary Adjudicator for the Cavalcade
of Bands Association. Below is my professional mission statement.

To produce a quality product on the field and/or floor in the
competitive and non-competitive world of the =93Pageantry Arts=94 This is
to include Scholastic Marching Band, The Indoor & Outdoor Color Guard
activities. To respect the Students, Staff, Parents and Sup****t Staff
with whom I work with, maintaining a positive attitude always and to
strive for excellence. Reassuring the student=92s self-worth through
positive reinforcement and encouragement Giving students a sense of
pride and accomplishment. Creating a learning environment to add
value to the students educational, performing and pageantry
experience.
