"Turtles Can Fly"
I just returned from seeing this film. Has anyone else seen it?
It's an incredible experience. It didn't seem as if the film would show
where I am but I called an independent house a couple of months ago and
asked about it. The owner said he had been thinking about it but it 'fell
off my radar' as he put it. Well, he got it in and I am so thankful.
It is one of the most haunting, exquisite films I've seen. It tells a
story
of war, children, surviving, not surviving - and tells it
unapologetically.
Brilliantly filmed- I am not the same person for having seen this film.
It
is subtitled but very easy to follow. Many people call it truthful - I
can't
speak to that as I have not been in a Kurdish refugee camp but it's
definitely a powerful film.
Anyhow, I highly recommend it.
If you've seen it, I'd love to chat about it.
