I'm way too old for that nonsense and it just doesn't seem worth it to me.
I suppose when I was younger and a bit more enthused, then I might have
done 
that.
There was a time I used to get to Springsteen shows early enough to hear
the 
soundchecks...
But, man, the pit just doesn't look to be all that much a blast from what 
I've seen.
Again, maybe it's a sign of old-age kicking in, but when I see that pit 
crowd something about it gives
me the willies.   Plus, I'm more of the mind to have ticket in hand and
get 
to a place maybe a half hour
or so before a show is scheduled to start.  When the wait time to get a 
place in a venue is longer
than the show itself....that just seems a bit backwards to me.
On the other hand, those who've been in the pit that I've read (and some 
have been in the pit
several several times), say it's something one has to experience to 
understand.
I'll take their word for it....
