Will be curious to know what you think....
Although the folks who've seen Dark Star are avid Deadheads, I tend to
trust
your objectivity
a bit more as far as how good they are or aren't...

That sounds like an interesting twist. I could see how that could
work....
The more I think about it, the more I dig that idea....
Man, there's money to be made in tribute bands.
I should grow a soul patch and hit the road with my Blood Brother
band...or
dye
my hair blonde and start a band called Breakdown...let my hair grow
wild and start the Rain Dogs band....shave my head and start a band called
First We Take Manhattan
(yeah, I know...no one would pay to see any of 'em...).
There's a Dylan tribute band. When they released a Dylan DVD...with no
original Dylan music,
I think the had some cat from the Dylan tribute band recreate
scenes...shot
of Dylan impersonator sitting
on his Triumph motorcycle, contemplating life before the crash.
I thought, man, that must be weird to wake up everyday and make a living
pretending to be someone else...
Yeah, I know actors do that all the time...but something about this ala a
tribute band just doesn't quite reach
the lofty standards I have for what is "art." Oh, what the hell, if
they're
having fun and making a go at it, then
more power to 'em I suppose.
