Reissue Due August 1st:
'Isle Of View'/'The Original Tap Dancing Kid' (2-on-1) "Jimmie
Spheeris' followers swore up and down that he deserved to become as
famous as Neil Young or Jackson Browne-and in a perfect world, he
would have been much better known in the singer/songwriter field. His
sensitive, contemplative debut album, Isle of View, first came out on
Epic in 1971. Acoustic-oriented selections like "I Am The Mercury,"
"For Roach" and "The Nest" are superb-when you aren't admiring
Spheeris for being such an expressive, charismatic vocalist, you're
loving his way with words..." All music.com. From 1972 and 1973.
Singer-songwriter Spheeris became a cult figure immediately after the
release of his first album, and his reputation has grown since his
untimely death in 1984. Both albums come digitally remastered and slip
cased with new notes.
