The Byrds' first PA system

by Bruce Kula <kula_rr@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 21, 2007 at 12:43 PM

My brother died recently, leaving behind a huge
collection of antique TVs, radios, and other
things. Among his favorite and most prominently
displayed pieces were a McIntosh C28 stereo preamp
and 275 stereo amp. They are functional and
beautifully restored.

Aside from being fairly high-end audiophile
equipment, these have the quite special historical
value of being the Byrds' first PA amplifier. My
brother got them from Roger McGuinn, who knew he'd
give them a good home.

Now I'm looking for a new home. The reason why I'm
mentioning them here before I advertise them
before a broader audience is because I would very
much like them to be in the hands of a Byrds fan.
Further, I'd prefer a fan in the Chicago area,
because that's where they are now; they are both
heavy and delicate, making ****pping difficult.
