I had the good fortune to see a concert by Brian Wilson a couple of months
ago. I was doing some net-surfing about him. I ended up on the imdb.com
page for "Beach Blanket Bingo", a 1965 film starring Frankie Avalon and
Annette Funicello (Wilson was an extra in it). The IMDB page includes
music
credits, and two of the songs were written by Gary Usher.
I started thinking, "now, why is the name Gary Usher familiar?" I googled
him, and came up with this site: http://www.garyusher.com/
(There's also a
Wikipedia entry for him.) If you go to "discography", and scroll down
about
80%, you'll see that he produced three Byrds albums, including "Sweetheart
of the Rodeo".
