While I agree with the sentiment, I just hate this lyric, and feel it's
just
a bit too clumsy and trite and obvious. It just doesn't work for me.
My particular favourite lyric is just a short one from Born To End: I get
run over by no direction.
As much a description of how I feel about my life as anything, and
something
I connected to very strongly for a long time. Less so now, but still a
bit
a bit. Just the idea of not knowing where I'm going, what I'm doing or
what
I want to do. Some kind of nihilistic emptiness that is at the heart fo
life.
Or something.
I also think, although James sings it no longer, that 'I laughed when
Lennon
got shot', is a brilliant lyric. A major **** you to, well, almost
everyone.
