Absolutely! What a wonderful package. Robbie Robertson spearheaded the
project, but it would have been a failure if it weren't for Garth's
collaboration in providing "never-before-heard-or-released" tracks of
the pre-Band days. The first two discs (of five) contain gems running
from Ronnie Hawkins days up through Levon & the Hawks (lots of cool
tracks here) and then a bunch of rare Bob Dylan tracks. The next three
discs don't hold much new if you have The Band's discography, but if
you don't, all the standards are there.
I have to say the coolest part for me is Disc 6, a DVD, which contains
9 or so live performances...containing two of the best versions of my
two favorite songs - King Harvest in a cabin in Woodstock, and Baby,
Don't You Do It from Rock of Ages - in video, mind you!
I say get it!
