I think you fail to realize what a huge moneymaker CDs are for online
retailers. We are many, many decades away from the point where CDs are an
unprofitable venture. It's not something you'll hear from the record
companies, because they want you to think digital downloads are sending
them
straight to the poor house. They're not. There is still a massive profit
margin both in manufacturing and retailing. Record stores will cease to
exist, sure. But who cares, I haven't gone to a store and physically
bought
a CD in years. What's the point when I can go to Amazon and find any CD I
could possibly think of.
