What were the five from Ballbreaker? Hail Caeser, Boogie Man, Cover You in
Oil, Ball Breaker and Hard as a Rock, right? I forgot about that! I
certainly enjoy hearing new tunes.
I agree about the untouchables, other than perhaps Shoot to Thrill. I
could
also see HAABPTB get switched for another tune. Jailbreak would be a very
popular sub, as would Who Made Who. Neither has been played since the TRE
tour IIRC, and would fit very well in that early slot. You really want to
get the crowd jacking on song two.
As for the five new tunes, RnRT stays, as does War Machine. Anything Goes
is one of my least favourite tracks on the album. Wheels is on the same
level as Rock Your Little Heart Out IMO- it sucks right up there with
Money
Made. And of all the songs, it perhaps was the worst received in TO (like
I
think it deserved). Black Ice is good, and I think it got a decent
reception from the crowd in TO. Big Jack isn't great, it good certainly
go.
I would love to hear RnR Dream, but that'd probably be a tough song to
sing
live. Stormy May Day would be hard to play live. Spoilin' for a Fight
would be great live (I love Brian's "I see trouble coming baby"). Rocking
All the Way would be a great tune that has a great Brian intro, and a
really
fun Chuck Berry/Little Richard ending. Decibel's great too, but it is too
slow. So my five would be:
RnR Train
Spoilin for a Fight (great song, great tempo for an early slot)
Black Ice (title track has to stay)
War Machine
Rocking All the Way is growling bluesy tune that would fit well after the
blazing War Machine and before the power finish of:
13. You Shook Me All Night Long
14. T.N.T.
15. Whole Lotta Rosie
16. Let There Be Rock
17. Highway to Hell
18. For Those About To Rock We Salute You
Say what you want about repetitiveness, but that's the best goddam finish
in
all of rock'n'roll, in all time, ever. I'm bored with YSMANL but it does
it's job- crank the crowd to fever levels before the next five just hammer
the **** out of the finish!
