"A Brief History of Ekron.
"The story of Ekron, ****trayed in the Old Testament and in Assyrian and
Babylonian sources, is rich in detail. The Philistine inscription adds
some
fresh insights. According to Gen. 13:2-7, the city was not conquered by
the
Israelites at the time of Joshua. Only when we read the text of Judges
1:18

between
them and the Tribes of Judah and Ephraim. Following this, Samuel, Saul and
David conducted wars against the Philistines (cf. 1 Sam. 5-7). The city of
Ekron passed through many hands, but in the end remained the property of
the
Philistines. After all this, on many occasions the Old Testament tells us:
Ekron had a Philistine king. (Cf. 2 Kings 1:1-6, and Amos 1:8.)....."

so much for your authorities who claimed there was no proof of ancient
Israel in ancient Middle Eastern countries!
of course, you may again try to claim an "enigmatic mention" by those who
believed in Gods is no proof!
