Agreed
I think The Beach Boys beat The Beatles in terms of musical
composition, on songs such as Surf's Up, Heroes And Villans and many
from Pet Sounds and the aborted Smile. They're also a better vocal
group, harmonically-wise.
The Beatles beat The Beach Boys as rock instrumentalists and solo
singers, also in the sound recording field (sound effects, tape loops,
etc.). They're also a lot more influential.... IMHO
