OK..and merely stating this while providing nothing to back it up is
supposed to make this true?
Are you talking about lyrics, or music, or both? I could perhaps agree
with
you from a lyrical position, but I think there's a strong case for Hot
House
having the edge in musical appeal.
The lyrical idea that leads to "White Wheeled Limousine" may have come
from
the same place as "Talk Of The Town," for example, but it leaves a greater
impression on the listener with Bela Fleck's banjo in the mix. No other
Hornsby song has the immediate attention grabbing drama of "Spider
Fingers."
I can't think of any songs that start out like "Big Rumble" either. Then
there's "The Changes," which lyrically describes why Bruce does what he
does. It's one of his most personal songs about being an artist, and
demands
that the listener know something about playing piano in a band to
understand
the song.
What fundamental, objective aspects of Harbor Lights make it "better" than
Hot House. I've got that it's your opinion, but I'm wondering if you have
any reasons that go beyond declarative statements.
