This isn't a standard CD, but rather it's a soundtrack album (rather like 
Across the Universe, but with the original artists on the tracks). I 
think comicsfan said it best: 

"Cirque du Soleil is a unique experience, and their attempt to make the
soundtrack fluid and self contained (like their performances) helps the
total atmosphere in a way the CD doesn't get to communicate. This is
contextual music -- which isn't what the Beatles originally did."

It shouldn't be seen as a replacement of anything in the standard 
catalog, and I doubt we'll see much of this sort of thing from Apple 
again.
