The fabs wouldn't write songs "with the American audience in mind" this is

just some Yank writing with his glorious yankdom and his US flag flying 
ceremoniously from his arse. You Americans are the be all and end all you 
know! The world of UK pop music didn't actually revolver around a
desperate 
urge to conkers America. Conquering America was just a bonus. The Yanks 
bought into the Beatles, it wasn't the other way round. Evidence: The UK 
albums maintained a proper status. Quote JL "This is from an LP, er
Beatles 
5 or whatever it is over here".

The Beatles weren't Elvis you know.
