After listening to 'Rain' for millionth time in the last 40 years, a
question came to mind about Ringo's clever drumming.
I guess the short question is "How much creative control did Ringo
have over his drumming on the Beatles' songs?"
The detailed version of the above question goes like this: Who penned
what Ringo played on 'Rain'? Did he improvise it himself and then
John, Paul and George agreed that it was appropriate? or did John
actually sit down with Ringo and tell him (or hum to him) note for
note what he wanted?
