Unless, I'm misreading the article, there is a quote from Paul which
is priceless, basically stating that his group and all the Liverpool
groups brought an honesty to pop music to combat the phoniness of teen
idols up until then.
Epstein is also quoted as saying that The Beatles are manufactured
musicians, they are talented, and all individuals.
For me, pesonally, that was the first and lasting image of The
Beatles...so completely different than the Fabians, Avalons, Rydells,
and Vintons who were so prevalent in the early 60s. Honest pop stars
who shed the usual "fluff" image, and had a realism to them.
