Y'know, I saw that rehearsal on a line above the actual Palladium show,
and didn't look closely enough to see that they were the same day.
Serves me right for shootin' my mouth off. :) You're right, it was 13
October (Neil Aspinall's birthday) and the day before The Daily Mirror
is credited with coining the term "Beatlemania".
Anyway, the description of the band running a gauntlet of fans to get to
their car sounds very much like those I've read for the rehearsal, so
I'm stickin' to my theory that the re****ter saw them leaving that time.
