I liked the songs better before I knew...

How about a Beatles songs discussion?  Here's the idea.

Sometimes it's interesting to dig into what motivated a particular song.
Occasionally, however, the truth can be severely disappointing.

Case in point:  ***y Sadie.

I think it's a beautiful song, and before I started reading RMB and RMBM
I assumed it was about a girl named Sadie who did some wrong to the
character singing the song.

Then I find out it's about the Mahari****!  Damn, I get all wound up
imagining this girl named Sadie who broke men's hearts who gets her
comeuppance.  And it's really about a petty little spat.  All the mental
images I had formed over the years related to the song, just thrown out
the window.

I had a couple of other Beatles songs I was thinking about for which I
had the same kind of reaction, but they've escaped me for now.
