As we all know, the album "A Hard Day's Night" (UK version) has only 13
songs instead of 14 like their other albums of that time. I'll guess
that it's because Ringo was taken ill on June 3, 1964, and that they'd
originally planned to record the last song (or maybe more) that
afternoon. Does anybody have a good guess as to what song was intended,
or even likely?
The 13 released include one vocal for George, but none for Ringo. I'll
guess that either they were going to record some Lennon-McCartney number
featuring Ringo, or else they were going to use "Matchbox" (recorded 2
days before) as Ringo's vocal on the album and would have recorded one
of John or Paul's songs to use on the "Long Tall Sally" EP instead of
"Matchbox."
Any guesses, anybody?
