Re: 1st use of varispeed by The Beatles?

Ahhh... I noticed the caveat in RTB (p. 292): "the 1st track to
receive GENEROUS application of varispeed...." So... maybe earlier
tracks received less generous applications....?  I've noticed sound-
timbre differences in some of the outtakes of Help, but you never know
if the bootleg was made at the correct speed...

Dizzying indeed!!  I guess I'll comb MacDonald and see what he says
and try to find any other references to the technique elsewhere.
