Friends, it's a good time to be living. June has arrived, summer is
kicking in and the music continues on. Steve Kujala, the flute avatar
from the land of LA, is going to slip through the freeway barricades
and make his way to Carlsbad for a concert with our trio. We call
ourselves the Na Pali Coast Trio and the name comes from a recording
that we made on Concord Records called "Na Pali Coast". We had a
definite vibe going and made many classic tours and recordings. The
spirit of the music summons up the beauty and magic of the Na Pali
Coast on the island of Kauai. It's a spot where the road ends and the
mountains meet the every changing ocean. Our music is sort of like that
where the improvisation leaves the written notes of the page and slips
into the vastness of the wild blue yonder. Actually this sounds a
little more cosmic than we really are but the music is ultra creative
nonetheless. I hope you can join us for the show. It'll be myself along
with Bob Magnusson on bass and Steve Kujala on flute. Look below for
the details...
Also this week, the always-delightful hang at the Roxy on Thursday
continues. Actually this is the last one for a while 'cuz the other
gigs are heating up. See you on the next loop, Peter

will be magic! Steve Kujala and Bob Magnusson are two of my favorite
musos and when we get together it's huge fun and great music. We made a
recording called Na Pali Coast and that's what defined our sound and
our musical direction.
