I just returned from seeing the Tierney Sutton Band in NYC. Prior to
her encore, she announced that bassist Dave Carpenter passed away last
night. She dedicated the tune "We Will meet Again," a lovely song by
Bill Evans with lyrics by Karen Gallinger, to his memory. I spoke with
Christian Jacob after the gig, and he said that he believed it was a
heart attack. Christian said the he believed Dave to be around 48.
