Kentucky Educational TV came to JP Fraley's Mountain Music Gatherin'
this past September and filmed a do***entary about old-time/mountain
music highlighting it and fiddling in particular at the Fraley
Festival. It's going to begin to be aired in Kentucky, starting this
week (Jan. 22 is the first). You can get more info at:
http://www.ket.org/cgi-bin/tvschedules/episode.pl?nola=KMUSE+000102
It includes folks talking about mountain music, a history of the
Fraley Festival that includes 1980's footage of JP and Annadeene
playing and singing, and then highlights some fiddlers from Kentucky
and West Virginia who attend the Festival: Paul Smith, Roger Cooper,
Bobby Taylor, John Harrod, Michael Garvin, Jesse Wells, and Rossi
Clark.
This is only available to people who can get KET. (I'm traveling to
Kentucky to watch it!) I thought I would mention it here for those in
Kentucky and border areas who might be interested.
