Suwannee Banjo Camp African Roots Program March 21-23rd, O'Leno State
Park, High Springs, Florida,Until now, the only way to learn the
akonting was to travel Gambia/Senegal. This year, you can learn to
play the akonting from master Jola musician Sana Ndiaye, assisted by
noted players/scholars Paul Sedgwick and Greg C. Adams. We will have
akontings available to borrow or to purchase. This is an
extraordinary op****tunity to learn from a terrific crew. This course
is open to anyone who signs up for the Suwannee Banjo Camp. Of
course, while at the camp there will be plenty of time to take
cl***** and jam with our bluegrass and old-time staff, Laura
Boosinger, Bob Carlin, Janet Davis, Dan Gellert, Mark Johnson, Bill
Keith, Brad Leftwich, Chuck Levy, and Ken Perlman. For more
information, go to www.suwanneebanjocamp.com
