Furry Lewis was really born in 1899, as he sometimes acknowledged and
the census confirms. Similarly, John Carson was really born March 23,
1873 (draft card, Georgia death records, etc.) but fibbed about that
for publicity reasons. Frank Hutchison was born March 20, 1896
according to his draft card. Armenter Chatmon was born June 30, 1893
