Im****tant News from Midwest Banjo Camp

We have a couple of im****tant new announcements.
=A0
First, we are pleased to announce that we have just added Pete Wernick
to=A0the MBC=A0bluegrass banjo=A0staff. Adding "Dr. Banjo" to the mix
makes
our already strong bluegrass faculy lineup even stronger. Pete needs
little introduction to anybody involved in bluegrass music today.=A0He
has been a member of such trend-setting bands as Hot Rize and Country
Cooking, has written some of the world's most popular bluegrass banjo
instruction books, and was President of the International Bluegrass
Music Association for 15 years. For more information on Pete's career,

Second, we have just posted a preliminary=A0schedule for our=A0"Pre-Camp"
program. This covers activities that will take place before the start
of the regular camp=A0on Thursday evening June 5, and Friday morning
June 6. Pre-Camp activities include a mixer, faculty-led jams, several
demonstrations, and quite a number of "mentor" sessions (during mentor
sessions,=A0assigned=A0teachers are made available=A0to offer advice about
levels, MBC class choices, technique, set-up, or any other banjo
related issue). This year, students registered for MBC can attend the
pre-camp program without additional charge.

Here are our particulars:

Dates: June 6-8, 2008
Place: Olivet College, Olivet, Michigan (about 30 miles southwest of
Lansing)
Times: Registration opens 12 noon on Friday June 6; Camp ends 3:30 PM
on Sunday June 8. The "pre-camp"=A0program=A0runs from Thurs. eve June 5
thru Friday morning, June 6.

Instructors:

Old-time: Bob Carlin, Cathy Fink, Adam Hurt, Brad Leftwich, Reed
Martin, Joe Newberry, Michael Miles and Ken Perlman. Chris Coole heads
up our old-time Novice program.

Bluegrass: Janet Beazley, Greg Cahill, Pat Cloud, Bill Evans, Bill
Keith, Jens Kruger, James McKinney, Alan Munde, and Peter Wernick.
Mike Sumner heads up our old-time Novice program.

Accompanists: Peter Knupfer (bluegrass fiddle), Ron McKeever
(bluegrass guitar), "Chirps" Smith (old-time fiddle) and Mark Sahlgren
(old-time guitar).
