This Friday (4/18) on WFDU-FM we=EDll be celebrating great string music
with a live in-studio performance by The Freight Hoppers. The band
will join Carol Beaugard on =ECLonesome Pine RFD=EE on 89.1, WFDU-FM from
11:00 am =F1 12:00 noon (ET). If you can=EDt tune in on your radio dial

The show will be taped for later broadcast on WAMU=EDs =EBBluegrass
Country=ED on HD radio in Wa****ngton D.C. and on the internet on
www.BluegrassCountry.org.
During the 1990s, The Freight Hoppers became the most popular modern
day old time music string band in the world. They recorded two
critically acclaimed albums that climbed into the Top 20 of
Billboard's Americana music charts: "Where'd You Come From, Where'd
You Go?" (1996) and 'Waiting on the Gravy Train"(1998). They toured
extensively in the U.S., Canada and Europe and elevated the popularity
of old time music all over the world. The band took a hiatus in 2002
but has now reformed with original members, David Bass and Frank Lee
on fiddle and banjo joined by Thomas Bailey on guitar and vocals and
Isaac Deal on upright bass and vocals. The band is working on a new
album to be released on Rounder Records.

Thursday morning from 6:00 =F1 9:00 am (EST) and Fridays from 9:00 am &
12 noon on 89.1, WFDU-FM and WAMU's "Bluegrass Country" in Wa****ngton
D.C. The Thursday show is dedicated to traditional and contem****ary
bluegrass and features a bluegrass gospel hour called & "The Hour in
the Light." On Fridays, she spotlights a mix of bluegrass and
progressive string music and live in-studio performances and
