In 2000, His fa****on sense isn't as elegant as Gucci's, but Roman
Kunikov says his gasoline-powered boots are a step forward in
footwear - as much as 13 feet per stride. Kunikov is one of the
professors at a Russian engineering institute who designed the boots
that were tested in a public square in Ufa, 750 miles southeast of
Moscow. The test showed that wearers can achieve speeds of up to 25
mph, Kunikov said. The boots incor****ate one-foot pistons that strap
along the calf and fire downward after the wearer steps down,
pu****ng
a metal plate away from the bottom of the shoe - and the wearer up
into the air. The shoes weigh about two pounds each, including a
fuel
tank, tiny carburetor, spark plug and wires and pipes. Kunikov said
there have not been any accidents so far.

perfect games in more than 120 years of the major leagues. Now after
19 years Pac-Man has its first. Billy Mitchell, 34, become the first
person to master the video arcade classic when he posted a score of
3,333,360 during the Fourth of July weekend at a New Hamp****re
arcade. "This was the race to the Holy Grail," said Mitchell, an
entrepreneur who runs two South Florida restaurants and markets a
brand of hot sauce. No one ever had played a perfect Pac-Man game
before, said Walter Day, chief scorekeeper for the Twin Galaxies
Intergalactic Score Board and editor of its Official Video Game and
Pinball Book in Fairfield, Iowa. Game experts call the feat a one in
10 billion phenomenon.

THIS DAVE IN HISTORY (David Letterman)
In 1977, One of Dave's first appearances on national television is as a
guest panelist on the syndicated "The Gong Show." Two years later, he's
guest-hosting The Tonight Show for the sixth time.
In 1994, Dave broadcasts his first new July 4th program since his morning
show in 1980. Tonight's lineup: Fireworks! by the Grucci brothers outside,
and a patriotic rendition of "I Love the Fourth of
July" by Richard Simmons. Calvert DeForrest comes onstage as "Barbara
