Montgomery small pipes in E from Julian Goodacre

by full name <chagin1@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 9, 2008 at 08:59 AM

I have a set of these that I am looking to exchange for a set of
smallpipes in A, with appropriate negotiations to adjust
monetary discomfort in either direction. They are fully reeded
up (artificial reeds) and tune up and play fine (according to my
Korg tuner), but with increasing age, my fingers have gotten
fatter and clumsier. Julian charges 1,050 pounds (see
http://www.goodbagpipes.co.uk/price_list.htm),
which is the same
as he charges for his smallpipes (about $2,015 US). These are
about 10 years old (chanter number 243), and have been lying
unplayed for most of that time. I was just at the pipers
gathering, and found out that I need a chanter with wider spaced
holes, thus lower pitch. I will take email happily from anyone
interested in this historical reproduction set, even if it is
just to purchase instead of exchange.
