Found another one of these mistakes in the ****rmer's ed. of the
Kreutzer =E9tude No. 3, p. 5. Second measure, third beat, two middle
16th's need to be upbow, otherwise the =E9tude is skewed in terms of the
bowing. Error not found in Internat'l ed.

My high school orchestra director, who was also the principle oboist
with the Wichita Symphony, used to make jokes about "the little man in
the basement of ****rmer's, hired to put in the wrong notes."
But I don't think it's such a joke anymore, but more like accurate: I
think it is at least possible that these minute errors are put in
designedly, to detect copyright violations.
Maybe.
