hammered dulcimer

by "L. E. Miller" <lairdjr@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 5, 2008 at 08:22 AM

Found a hammer dulcimer at a yard sale and now trying to tune it
I have been all over the internet but can not find a tuning chart for it
Some are close

It has a label inside from Pigeon River Strings
I called them but they could not help.
They are new owners and not sure of what I have.
Also label said custom made by Dale Ward

There are 12 courses of strings, pinned on the left side,
passing over bridge on the left and tuned on the right side.

Then there are 4 courses of strings, pinned on the right side,
passing over the small bridge on the right, under the bridge on the left
and tuned on the left side.

There are 2 strings in each courses of strings

Any help with tuning chart, string gages would be greatly appreciated.
