There are multiple forms of this type of breakin. Some use the speaker(s)
and 
blast it in an acoustic box, sometimes called Shaker Tables with various 
theories as to what should be played, other just remove the speaker cone 
material leaving the voice coil and attach a "stinger" to the coil. This
then 
is pressed againt, or attached, to the bridge to drive it. An interesting 
variant is a system of excentric weights on a small motor which is then 
attached to the strings to drive the box. Different weights are used over
a 
series of days to excite the various modes. Contact Edward Dick

All that being said, whether this helps or is all just in the ear of the 
beholder is still a hotly disputed area. I don't have a dog in that fight
