OK, enough already! What IS an iPhone thingy?

I've been trying to be completely invisible for years and I think I've
finally made it - I applied for some online offer the other day and
they said that my application was invalid because they couldn't match
my name to the address...cool...

A result, I would say, but then all anyone has to do to find me is do
a bit of work on persistent_offender and they'll find m***** of stuff.

Of course the downside of being invisible is that you don't get all
the advertising stuff which points you at things like iPhones.

What am I missing, and can the Mother****p still see me even if I do
wear a pointy hat?
