I agree - within limits. I'd be interested in an example of blues with
no
blue notes. I'm casting my mind back to various jazz recordings of
"Basin
St Blues" but off hand I'm not sure :-) Even if there's (say) a jazz
recording in blues form without blue notes, I'm not sure if your true
blues
fraternity would accept it. :-)
But blue notes have indeed spread into jazz way beyond blues, so the vice
versa is certainly true.
