Personally, I have never been a fan of "American Woman."
But, one of my very favorite Guess Who efforts is their 1971 release,
"Broken," which is the flip side of their Top 40 hit, "Albert Flasher,"
another GW tune I like a lot. "Broken" was but a minor hit in the US,
climbing only to #55 on the Billboard charts. The electric guitar solo is
simply super, in my view, and ***mings nails the vocals with great gusto.
Other Guess Who 45rpm releases I like include: "Star Baby" (Top 40,
February, 1974); "No Sugar Tonight" (flip side of "American Woman," March,
1970); "Rain Dance" (Top 40, August, 1971); and "No Time" (Top 40,
December,
1969).
