I remember this tune playing on German radio in the late 60s - early 70s,
so 
it's not Tubes or Chingon or whatever.

Though Trini Lopez did a version which comes very close (= mixed Spanish
and 
English lyrics, and some whistling at the beginnig), this is not the one
I'm 
looking for.
