I just read that the Hot 100 charts just had it's 1000th number one
song since the start of the Rock 'n Roll era which is said to have
begun with Bill Haley and His Comets (We're Gonna)Rock Around The
Clock way back in 1955. Who would've thought it would take 53 years to
reach this milestone.
Were it not for songs spending from 10 to 14 weeks in the number 1
spot, it would've probably happened much sooner. Year with the most
#1's? Still 1975 to my knowledge which had 30+ songs hit the top of
the charts most of em for just 1 week.
