In MOZART I made a decision to use the #5 or +5 suffix for anything more 
complicated than a 7th chord with an augmented 5th, so you can choose from

the last two.

Chords are stored in the program as a root plus various other pieces of 
information like

- is the 3rd major/minor/missing/replaced by a sus4/replaced by a sus2?
- is the fifth perfect/diminished/augmented
- is there a major/minor/diminished 7th or none?
- is there a major/minor/augmented 9th or none?
- is there a perfect/augmented 11th or none?
- is there a major 6th/13th/minor 13th or none?

You can set assorted style options like dim or circle #5 or +5 and so on.
Mozart parses the chord content, and chooses a name according to the style

options.

(It is eaier to do it that way than parse the name and work out the
content 
for play-back.)

We rehearse about 5 miles from Lewis Carrol's family home in Che****re, and

our director has a PhD in Jazz.     We formed just as she was getting her 
PhD and were in the pub after a rehearsal looking for a name (where else
to 
look?).    I suggested "Dr Jazz"  in honour of the great event (with 
reference of course the eponymous jazz standard from the 20s)  and someone

just added "and the Che****re Cats" after which, there was of course no 
alternative.   :-)

But our members come from all over NW England and NE Wales.   [From 
Macclesfield to Preston in the NS range and Hollywell to Manchester in the

EW range.]
