This is a bit off this topic, but since Penderecki had been included
in the thread I thought this might prove helpful to someone. It
doesn't address the Hiro****ma piece but is a Doctors Thesis on his
Harmonic practices in another piece. It also will serve as an example
of a pretty deep analysis of a harmonic structure that really
stretches the UC/LC language as the piece is not in the traditional
functional style, but is more of a rebellion of this style. It does
show some of the flexibility that is needed to adapt known languages
to fit the different aspects of music even within the same composition
as it uses UC/LC as appropriate as well as Alpha Notation as
appropriate as well as other techniques that fit the music he is
analyzing.
At any rate, take it or leave it. If I find one one Hypertonality, I
will send it, but for now, this is all I could find.
