I have problems with all of this because I don't play a piano.   The exact

pitch of a note I play is therefore whatever feelks right at the time, and

usually I don't have time to anlayse it.    If you told me to play
*exactly* 
in 12TET I wouldn't be able to, and I have no idea what tolerance I would 
need in order to play arbitrarily close to it.    I don't just play 12
notes 
(and octaves) either - every one has its own colouring imcluding the 
intonation.

That does not stand up as a logical contradiction of my statement.  All it

implies is that you believe nothing more interesting than Beethoven has 
happened in the last couple of centuries.
