According to recent scientific research, musical training for kids can
only 
"give" perfect pitch to children who have a genetic predisposition for it,

i.e. if they have a specific gene or genes. Eartraining can "switched on" 
this/these gene but only before the age of six. If kids don't have the 
gene(s), or the eartraining is done too late, no amount of eartraining can

create perfect pitch, although it can create very good relative pitch.
