That's ok - I wasn't playing major and minor scales.    Nor does music 
consist only of major and minor scales.

No.  It is possible all over the place.    Eg: play a C7 chord and then 
change the C to a C# and you have C#-Bb: a diminished 7th.

No surprises there then.   People have been doing itfor a long time.   Did

you want to forbid tem?

A doubly augmented 2nd.

A diminished 3rd.

These intervals may not be completely commonplace but they are well
defined 
and have the above names.
