I use the ABC application BarFly for the Mac - it can create a drone
at any pitch and timbre you want, or generate a QuickTime file of one.
(It could generate a WAV as well, but why? QT is far smaller).
The BarFly download is smaller than the WAV you're wanting would be.
I used it to make the pitch reference files on my website.
