Sorry folks, two of my pet interest again, but this time only a couple of
basic questions on the topic of inversions.
In tertiary stacks we can easily show inversions in chord symbols by using
slash chords - e.g. the symbol for Cmaj13 in sixth inversion would be
Cmaj13/A, giving us a stack A, C, E, G, B, D, (F).
However, if I wanted that same chord and same bass note (A) but voiced in
fourths, which gives a very different feel, i.e. A, D, G, C, (F), B, E
(actually this chord is nicest when you drop the 11th, F, and replace it
with the 3rd, E, but that's a digression), I can use the same chord symbol
Cmaj13/A, but...
Question 1, how can I indicate I want the chord voiced in fourths, without
scoring it?
Question 2, the digital sequence of a quartal voice is R, 4th, 7th, 3rd,
6th, 2nd, 5th, is it still logical to talk of inversions?
